Files are indexed where they sit. The AI engine and the portal only listen on 127.0.0.1. There is no Gryndara cloud for your documents, no telemetry of your content, no training on your files. A licence check-in (ids, version, health flags) is how we manage seats and support — not how the AI runs.

Ask in plain English. The Orchestrator plans, the specialists execute in sequence, and you get a file — with a Monitor log of what was read and written.
Scanned PDFs (local OCR), messy Excel tables, Word, CSV, Markdown and text are indexed in place — up to 10,000 files per folder, re-scanned automatically.

Security
Local-only network binding, scrypt password hashes, hashed session tokens in httpOnly cookies, role checks on every route, signed updates and licences, verified installer downloads. What we don't do yet — at-rest encryption, sandboxing — we say so, and tell you how to cover it (BitLocker).

Nothing is sent to a cloud AI provider. gryndara.com only handles accounts, licences and a daily health check-in so we can support the install.
Your documents, prompts and model outputs never leave the PC. The portal and the AI engine both bind to 127.0.0.1. The only outbound connections are a trial or daily licence check-in (version, licence id, health flags — never file names or content) so Gryndara can manage seats and support, the optional signed-update check, and the one-time download of Ollama and the model.
A Windows 10 or 11 PC with 8 GB of RAM runs the Lite tier (Qwen 3 4B). 16 GB is recommended for the Standard tier (Qwen 3 8B). 32 GB workstations can run the Pro tier (Qwen 3 14B) and the code-tuned Coder tier (Qwen3-Coder 30B). Setup detects your RAM and recommends a tier.
Gryndara is free during the private beta. Paid per-device licences (Solo and Team) arrive at launch; beta accounts keep a founding discount. There are no per-token or per-request charges because inference runs on your hardware.
ChatGPT and Copilot run on the vendor's servers and see every prompt and file you share. Gryndara runs on your PC, works from folders you choose, produces files in your outbox, and supports multiple users with roles — it is workflow software, not a chat window.

Yes. Gryndara has local user accounts with admin, operator and viewer roles. The portal is bound to the host PC; team members use it on that machine or via a secure tunnel your IT sets up. A Team licence covers up to five PCs.
For summarising, drafting, extraction and reformatting from your own documents — the bulk of small-business work — the 8B and 14B open models are very capable. For frontier-level reasoning on open-ended problems, cloud models are still ahead. Gryndara is for the 80% of daily work that shouldn't leave your building.
